AdName Chrome Extension — Privacy Policy

AdName is an internal ad-naming tool. This page explains what the AdName Chrome extension does, what data it accesses, and how that data is used.

What the extension does

The AdName extension lets you generate ad campaign/ad set/ad names from templates you create in the AdName web app, and paste or copy those names while working in ad platform interfaces (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others).

Data the extension accesses

• Your AdName account session. When you sign in to the AdName web app, an authentication token is sent to the extension and stored locally (via chrome.storage.local) so you stay signed in. This token is periodically refreshed in the background so you don't have to keep the web app open.
• Your templates and template sets. The extension reads the templates and template sets you and your team have created, from the same Supabase-backed database the web app uses, scoped to your account and team access.
• The current page's URL and form fields. The extension reads the active tab's URL to detect which ad platform you're on (so it can apply the right naming defaults), and can read/fill text input fields on that page when you choose to paste a generated name into it. The extension does not read page content unrelated to this naming workflow, and does not transmit page content anywhere outside your own browser and the AdName backend described above.
• Local history and favorites. Recently generated names are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you can quickly reuse them. This data stays on your device.

What the extension does not do

• It does not sell or share your data with third parties.
• It does not track your browsing activity outside of detecting the active ad platform.
• It does not inject ads or unrelated scripts into pages you visit.

Permissions explained

• Host permissions (all sites): required so the extension can detect which ad platform you're on and insert generated names into that page's form fields, since this tool is designed to work across any ad platform you use, not a fixed list of sites.
• Storage: to keep you signed in and cache your templates locally.
• Tabs / Active Tab / Scripting: to detect the current page and insert text into it when you choose to paste a generated name.
• Side Panel: to display the AdName interface alongside the page you're working on.
• Alarms: to periodically refresh your authentication token in the background, so your session stays active without requiring you to keep the AdName dashboard open.

Data retention

Templates, template sets, and team data are retained in the AdName backend per your organization's use of the product. Locally cached data (auth token, history, favorites) can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser's extension storage.
